The Heart of What I Do
““What I do isn’t just about funerals or farewells — it’s about protecting stories, preserving dignity, and making sure families feel held when the world feels heavy.””
What I do isn’t about funerals or farewells — it’s about sprinkling light on the darkest days and weaving beauty into moments that feel unbearably heavy. I like to think of myself as a fairy glam mother for families in grief — stepping in with a touch of elegance, a little sparkle of creativity, and a whole lot of heart. My gift is turning sorrow into something sacred and unforgettable. Every detail I design — from a keepsake necklace to a full celebration of life — is a reminder that love never leaves us; it simply deserves to be honored in style.
When Grief Became Purpose
If you’ve found your way here, chances are grief has touched your life. I want you to know you don’t have to walk it alone. Let’s create a farewell worthy of your loved one’s story — together.
When Grief Became Purpose
I remember my first real encounter with death when I was just in the 4th grade. My classmate Benji had leukemia, and when the teasing got cruel, I was the one who fought his bullies off. One day, he never returned to school. A few days later, I stood outside and watched them carry his small casket out the back of a hearse for his funeral mass. That moment transformed me. It ignited an empathic nature in me that I didn’t yet have the words for, but I knew I was connected to grief in a way that mattered.
From there, I attached myself to a local funeral director in Portland — I wanted to know everything about what she did and how she cared for families. I even attempted to go to school to get my degree in Mortuary Science, but life had other plans. Three children, six grandchildren, and a 25-year career in the beauty business later, my secret dream of working in funeral services came back around.
During the pandemic, I started designing magazine-style obituaries for families who lost loved ones to COVID. But that wasn’t enough. I saw families crushed by regulations, waiting lists, and overcrowded funeral homes, and I knew I had to step in. That’s when I began planning virtual memorial services — helping families find closure when tradition was stripped away. What I thought was just a side act of gratitude revealed itself to be my true purpose.
It all came full circle when I became the go-to person families called during the darkest moments of their lives. What began as designing obituaries turned into full productions, styled services, and keepsakes that held memories for a lifetime. I turned my gift into a business, and still — I wanted to give more.
In 2024, when my beloved aunt passed away, my last honorable act for her was doing her makeup for her funeral. Even while fighting my own grief, I poured love into making sure she looked beautiful and at peace. That experience deepened my calling — reminding me that this work is not just what I do for others, it’s also how I process my own grief.
So I invested further in my growth. I became a Licensed Funeral Arranger, a Certified CMEP (Conference & Event Management Professional), and a Certified Grief Coach. Each credential expanded my ability to serve — blending event production, grief work, and legacy curation into one.
Today, I stand as a Legacy Curator — blending the creativity of my beauty career, the compassion of my lived experience, and the excellence of my training into one mission: to make sure every story is honored with dignity, soul, and unforgettable beauty.
